Posessions insurance

I'm trying to find an insurance company that will insure some of my posessions, namely my laptop, mp3 player, musical instruments and some specialist equpiment that I carry to uni with me. I'm still living at home and my parents have a very basic home insurance policy because they rent the house so I need to find a company that will insure just my things. Does anyone know of any companies?

I think E & L do a musical instruments policy but I doubt it'll cover the rest of your gear. I would look into beefing up your parent's existing contents cover as it's usually a better value option than specialised individual insurance unless we're talking big individual item values.

All my music equipment is insured on my house insurence. I had to change the policy so that any item up to the value of £2000 is covered outside of my home. This includes accidental damage/theft at gigs. It only went from about £15 a month to £20.
