Hi,

I have bought a Posiflex PD2200S (rs232 serial connection), it came with a power supply but not data cable (rs232 9 pin).

I have two questions regarding this device if anyone has knowledge is that;

1. what kind of rs232 9pin cable does it require, a normal rs232 or a null modem 9 pin rs232 cable?

2. there are two rs232 connection ports, the first one a rs232 (pass through) male and a second one rs232 (with power) female. what are the differences of these?

this is basically to connect up to a epos software which I have. any help regarding this would be much appreciated.

thank you.

Hello, just so people know who might be in the same situation, I managed to resolve this issue, if you have a third party POS software, contact them as they will have specific settings, in my case, my warranty had ran out so I couldn't contact them with out paying for another year sub. I did manage to fix it, usually there is a file with the ext .config that relates to the hardware attached to the POS software, there was a line names the OPOS that also controls my printer and cash drawer, it was set at 0 for my printer and cash drawer, and i simply went to the line display section of that file and changed the default settings opos 1 to 0.

just a little help and idea for people who might be trying to config a POS software who cannot get technical support at the moment.
