Just been playing a game for the last hour when my computor shut down. I thought at first, Gpus over heating, but no. When I turned it back on again, the fan on the Psu was going full tilt and the unit itself was very hot. So turned the PC of and took the unit out and inspected it for dust. Found very little tbh, as I clean the case filter every week. So I put it back in and it was running full tilt again, but then started to wind down. It is running normal again, except for a slight whirling noise. You can only hear it, if you put your ear close to the unit.
I have had this Psu for about 18 months, and in all that time have never really heard the fan. It has always run very silent and very cool, no matter how long the PC has been on.
Now my questions are, is the fan on it`s way out? And should I be worried?
