Positioning a Akasa AK-965 - fitting instructions contradict instinct?

I've just recieved the akasa AK-965 and the instructions site the heatsink's fan facing the memory banks. I was under the impression it needed to to be fitted with the fan facing the back of the case so it expels the heat out the rear case exhaust fan?

If anyone has fitted one i would appreciate some guidance as i'm sat surrounded by bits but am having to hesitate with the first component - frustrating to say the least.

You are meant to have the fan sitting next to the memory banks and blowing air through the heat sink towards the exhaust fan for best results.

Don't have one myself, but all the pics i can find have the fan positioned over the RAM, but exhausting towards the rear of the case.

Thanks guys - that makes total sense to me now. For some reason i imagined the fan blowing the other way - d'oh!

I can get building now - if my 2 toddlers will allow it that is. There doesn't seem to be a safe place in the house - i may have to wait until their bedtime other wise i can see my motherboard being used as matchbox car park.
