Hi all, seen an MSI GTX 780Ti GAMING Twin Frozr IV card for a damn good price and am just wondering if it's a good idea considering my setup (in sig)

The only problem I can foresee is that the only fan extracting heat is my psu fan, which with the 290 being the oem-type is doing an ok job at the mo.

Will the Ti upset the balance too much? Stick to a 'blower' type card?

thanks

Put the gaming card on the top and the ref card at the bottom and you will be good to go. I see that card also and it is a damned good price.

I am confused.... You want to run 2 cards from AMD and nVidia in the same system?

Sorry m8, bit of a mis-understanding. Currently running a mITX system so 1 card max...

I think the heat is going to be too much. I'd order it just to try tbh but I hate to take advantage of DSR in that way

Yeah, I did think that and maybe wait on a deal to pop up on the MM. It's just with the MSI being such a good price it got me tempted ;)

Ahhh There was one on the MM that was a sweet price and that was worth the extra heat in the case was my thinking.

Blower cards would be better but the blower coolers don't do such a good job as the AIB coolers, so it is a trade off.

One card should be fine, you do have some exhaust fans at the rear of the case? You won't regret moving to a 780Ti, especially if you can get a good price. Ti is a beast.

I don't see the point TBH. You will be probably better served just keeping what you have, until the first lot of high end 20NM cards come out at the end of the year.
