thinkin about upgrading my mobo and cpu (and possibly ram)

current setup:
P4 'HT' 3 GHz 800FSB 2mb cache
ECS: RS400-A mobo
2 GB 667 ram
400 gb + 160 gb sata drives
512 mb x1950
win xp pro (NOT upgrading to vista:))

im currently stuck between the e2180 and the Q6600 cpu's, i just need it to be able the run ALL the latest games in at least 1024 x 768 with graphics settings at medium/high(est). My current setup run everythings iv installed on it so far (crysis, UT3, bioshock, gears of war) they all run ok but can get a lil slow when lots going on in the game :)

already decided on mobo for a e2180, but if i get the Q6600 what board would i be best off getting with it???

Mobo is probably good for the q6600 if its good for the e2180, but anything p35 based really.

An overclocked E2180 will handle any game at 1024x768, with the exception of a few CPU intensive games like supreme commander...err actually i think thatd be the only one really.

If your used to such low standards and are finding it good/ fine then you'll find a E21*0 at 3ghz + magical.

Which mobo btw ??

are you suggesting that an e2180 would have to be overclocked before it would run at 1024 x 768, because my p4 run all games at 1024x768 fairly easily, with the odd gitter now and again :), so id expect that a e2180 at stock would be more then enough :(
