I am one believer that you should not speed but earlier this afternoon I was pulling out of a street onto another (the road I was coming from was a residential so safe to say the limit would be 30mph on the road I was coming from) right at this junction where I was turning onto this new road to the left is country lane so this is the national speed limit. On this occasion I was turning right. I have always assumed that this road is 40MPH, the road has no clear signs from the point of where I pulled out neither all the way down to the bottom of the hill (where the speed camera van was) if I seen the signs stating it was 30mph I would have gone at that speed.
My question is, because they was no clear signs from the point I joined the road and even right up to the camera van do I have a leg to stand on?
It was only when I went past the van I decided to turn around and check for signs which they is a sign which states 30mph but this was placed at the start of the country lane facing totally the wrong way to me when I was at this junction ready to pull out. So they is no clear signs stating 30mph for going down the hill.
First time ever been caught but I now know this road is a 30 zone. I have took some pictures just in case.
FYI I was doing around 36 to 38.
