China is a capitalist country, it just happens to be ran by a one-party state that calls itself communist. There's nothing communist about China at all, everyone earns money and buys things with money.

It's a bit like how North Korea calls itself the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, there's nothing democratic about the country at all, nor does it put the will of the people in any order of priority whatsoever.

Venezuela is just a poop-hole ran by a tin-pot Super Mario, I can't see him lasting long. He's too tone-deaf and stupid to keep his grasp.

The irony is Socialism is destined to fail - you can't have a system that pulls everything inwards without stifling individuality and innovation and hence progress ultimately resulting in a circular decline at all levels. its a brute force attempt to circumvent human nature that might sound good on paper but actually doesn't work - in its attempts to be fair it destroys itself.

While it can never work with human nature "capitalism" in a society that was also self aware of the collective whole at all levels would actually work - sure it wouldn't be an equal society but no one would be too unfairly disadvantaged.

Sadly the human race is too stupid but to do anything but swing from one extreme to the other never learning.

Hong Kong would definitely disagree, last I read there are movements demanding to become a UK colony again. They've certainly embraced elements of capitalism but they're a communist government and most people work long hours for peanuts.
 
I am with Labour when they say everything is fine over there.

In fact it's a prime example of the left in Latin America showing the world that there is an alternative to austerity, cuts, and privatisation.

I wonder if Dianne is going there for another free holiday this summer?

Diane was going to Venezuela but when she arrived at Heathrow she couldn't find gate twelvety two. So she missed her flight. Momentum put out a statement blaming fascist Tory cuts. Diane blamed racism & diabetes, which apparently causes her to be innumerate. Owen Jones said that airport gates are a symbol of patriarchy & are oppressive. Baroness Warsi said she had never been to any airport anywhere ever at any time & resigned.
