Possible DMF issues?

Morning peeps,

It's 2 weeks after purchasing my Volvo C30 and I think I've found a problem.

I'm not sure how I didn't notice it while checking the car over initially, but it feels like the idle is very lumpy..like it's "coughing" once or twice a second. When depressing the clutch pedal I can feel the vibration through the pedal. There is also a noticeable squeal when turning off the engine (originally thought this was the aux belt as it would squeal for several minutes when cold. They replaced the belt pre-handover though which cured the original squeal when cold).

I wasn't too concerned when I first noticed the vibration and planned to clean out the throttle body and EGR to try and solve it, but the more I research the symptoms the more it sounds like my DMF could be on its way out.

Are there any other tests I can do to prove the DMF is at fault? I want to gather as much evidence as possible before approaching the garage about fixing it. They're only a small independant dealers so I know what their response will be, and it won't be positive; so how would you guys approach the situation?

Well I called the dealers today as I noticed that the clutch is slipping slightly if I accellerate from 40mph in 4th gear (around 2k rpm). I didn't notice any problems when I test drove it, but it appears to only happen when the clutch is warmed up which would probably explain it.

Unsurprisingly he tried giving me spiel about how you can make any clutch slip on any car if you want to, and it's only done 60k miles so it shouldn't be going already. He also suggested that it wasn't normal driving to accellerate from 40mph in 4th gear lol!! He then said that a clutch is a wear and tear item that probably wouldn't be covered by their warranty and then suggested I didn't bring it in for them to look at until it started slipping properly!

Feeling like I was being fobbed off, I said I'd rather get it sorted asap because I don't want to lose any rights I have under the Sale of Goods Act. At that point he got really funny with me, claiming I was suggesting they wouldn't sort things out for me! I told him that's not what I was doing at all and that I was confident they would sort me out. He now wants to be there when I take the car in!

It's looking like this could be an interesting one to sort out, and I'm certainly going to get a couple of 3rd party inspections done before letting the delaer get their hands on it.
