Long story which i will try to shrink.

Other week my pc stopped working on start up. Turned on and pc went dead after approx 20 secounds then 15 then 10 then 5.
I replace the psu with no success. (this was the oldest part of the computer)
I then started to dismantle the computer and it would start as muh as possible with the cpu power supply not plugged in.
I replaced the cpu with no success. (Returned this one) AMD fx 9590
I then phoned asus as the motherboard was a Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Socket AM3+ 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard.
They told me the board was faulty. Still under warranty so sent back and got a refund.
Now i decide if im getting a new motherboard might as well upgrade to an AM4 so i get a Asus Crosshair VI Hero AM4 motherboard a RYZEN cpu and some DDR4.
I plug everything in and turn it on and straight away i get told by the bios i have no cpu fan. This is fine i think as i'm using a Corsair H100i v2 and there for it won't register the pump as a fan i had pre brought the AM4 bracket so it would fit on the new cpu.
Then i'm being told the cpu is over heating and has gone up to 90 degrees. I've not got out of the bios yet.

This all brings me to belive the whole propblem i have is a faulty water pump on my Corsair H100i v2 and gone almost to the point of replacing every part on my pc for a bl**** pump?

The fans on the radiators are col an the pipes coming from the cpu are cold so must be the pump is not pumping?

Certainly if the pump is not running your CPU will get very hot within a minute. Honestly you know I never tried, but I don't think you will be able to feel the heat in the pipes for some time because the water isn't that hot.

The H100i also feeds back the pump speed to the motherboard through the CPU header. If you have the CPU FAN FAIL configured in the BIOS then it should instantly trigger an alarm.

If it's telling you that you have no CPU fan then NO this is not OK. As I said, the H100i has a connector that plugs in to the motherboard telling it the RPM of the water pump. If the RPM is zero, in other words the motherboard says there is no cpu fan, then there's your problem!

But why don't you use LINK? Download it and take a look see how it's performing. You get all the information you need in LINK.

PC wont stay on long enough to install link. The CPU and mobo will turn on for around 60 secounds before i get a heat warning of 94c. I'm going to see if i have a spare heat sink to try on it some where.

Like Pocah said and you have surmised .. probably bad H100 pump. Pumps are the known fail-point on all Asetek OEM CLCs If pump is working both hoses will be warm. If pump is barely working one line with be room temp and other with get hot.

I suggest getting a good air cooler that will cost less and cool as good as H100 did with less noise and no worries about pump ever failing again. ;)

I found my old hydro pump in the loft and connected it all up and works perfect. The H100 is stiill under warranty so may as well get it replaced. Should be easyer to diagnose in the future now i'm not running FX9590. That thing heated up so fast made it an expensive fix.
Thanks for your input :)
