Hey guys,
Im planing to build a new gaming/Linux pc/box to replace my ancient p4 pc.
Due to the relative cramp area on and under my desk I'm planning on a a small form factor pc.

I'm hopefully looking (if i get this quarter bonus) a i7 based kit:

board in a

case,

The only two issues are what gpus can i fit in said case and where can i get a cpu cooler that will fit in the case? Or wouldit be better to set up a water cooling system?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Any GPU will go, although it'll require mor epatience if it's bigger as it's a small case!

CPU Cooler - go for the Scythe Mini-Ninja. It fits and cools very well. Better than anything for the size.

Thanks, i was having nightmares of trying to sort out water cooling.

That cooler won't cool an i7 (or even fit on a LGA1366) as they're very hot, also having a small case too won't be brilliant helping cool an i7 either. As for the case I have seen 4870 Xfire and a 4870X2 so quite a lot of cards fit.

So maybe go for a quad core? it would be a lot cheaper i suppose.

If you are going to watercool it'll be fine, but with a hot GPU and an i7 in a SFF case it'll be pretty dam hot. A 775 quad will be a HUGE step up from a P4 anyway so I'd go we that route, and as you said cheaper too :)

P4 extreme 3.6ghz of single core POWER!!!

I don't think i have enough experience to comfortable build a water cooled pc.

Opps :o :p

Is there a fan for it though, as in the pics above doesn't look like it.

It clips on the side and can be moved apparently.,
it looks very nice plus the air flow in the case should be pretty good.
