Hi all as the title states i'm not 100% sure but i think my 2080ti may be on the way out, i recently have noticed most of my games would lock up and i would get an error message pop up saying gpu device hung, usally happens when the gpu is removed or a driver update is happing.

i'm curently on version 419.35, i have used ddu to clear all previous versions of nvidia control pannel plus the driver, but what ever i do my card still throws up this error, sometimes its ok but not always, i did have some unbelivable artifacting in anthem the other night the screen just when a bleach green and it was so bright i had to turn my screen off, would this be a sign of a failing card?

its completly stock also no overclocking

any help you could offer is appreciated and before you ask my card is a palit rtx 2080 ti, i know its not the best one to go for but at the time it was sub 1k and in stock so what the hell

Doesn't sound promising. There's no other reasonable explanation for those symptoms at stock settings, given you've tried purging the drivers. You could try underclocking it a bit and see if that solves the issue, but obviously that's not a long-term solution or in any way reasonable to have to do with a ~£1k card. I'd RMA it immediately.

+1

i really had hoped that i'd dodged a bullet with the whole rtx problems, the card has been solid since december but its so anoying, if i'm able to rma it i may stump up a few quid more go to nvidia and get a founders and put it under water, but we'll see what happens

just done some initial testing in anthem with downclocking my card, if i set -90 on the core and -500 on the ram anthem plays fine, not one crash, i dont get any weird artifacting either at those settings, gpu temps arnt too bad either 71-75 degrees max, not to happy i'e had to downclock but we'll see if my other games crash if not i'll try and rma it

i've been doing testing since my first post and have found something intresting, one thing i didnt do was to roll back the gpu driver to see if the new ones had issues, guess what going from the latest 419.35 back to 418.91 and my card is able to play anthem, i've been playing for a good 6-7 hrs and nothing went wrong, on a plus as well i was able to run the card a specified clocks which i want able to on the newset driver (i had a -90 core offest and a -500 ram offeset), other games i had a quick go in that would crash before seem to be working also on the rolled back driver.
when i rolled back i noticed that the physx software version has changed, i'm not sure what it was on driver 419.35 but on driver 418.91 the physx driver version is 9.19.0218, could the updated physx have caused my green articating?

i'm do more testing on driver 418.91 and if anything happens i'll drop an update
