Hi everyone,
I write possible in the subject line, as I can't be sure of the root cause of what I'm suffering from.
Basically my system has recently become noisier and noisier - instead of being sensible and inquisitive - I chose to ignore this.
Now when I fire up the system, there is a massive amount of distorting and flickering on the screen, when I get into windows, its at minimum resolution and more often than not the colour is completely distorted.
Machine bought late 2010 - HW specs are;
CPU: I5 760 o/c'd to 4ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P7 P55D-E LX
GPU: Palit Geforce GTX460 (1024)
Memory: 4gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3 (2 * 2 gb)
PSU: Powercool 750w 80plus (pc-750auba-b)
Boot drive is a 60gb Corsair Evo ssd
Through device manager I have uninstalled / reinstalled and tinkered with the Nvidia drivers, however no joy. Device manager is showing that the gpu has been disabled by windows (error code 43 if i recall). Nothing I've been able to try has remedied this!
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what may be causing my issue? My supposition is that the GPU is fried, and its time to replace - however if i'm going to do that, I am thinking I may also upgrade the PSU and RAM.
Thoughts?
