Possible Half Life 3 confirmation.

Still not a confirmation. They could just be protecting their IP, as it says in the article.

Apparently one of the requirements of getting a trademark is that it must be actually used, otherwise you could just spam registrations and Valve could have trademarked it ages ago. The time limit is often a very generous 5-years though, so they could be planning to release it anytime between now and 2018!

So it's took all them years to get this trademarked :rolleyes: valve are idiots for not talking to their fanbase, there is money to be made but is it enough for salad dodger gabe.

Well better post this then...

Interesting if true, but less than 60 people?...

Depends on how far through they are with adding people to the project. Our Jira projects stay at about 30-40 devs until we open it up to the rest of the company in which case it goes up to 200+ Early days I guess.

*Sniff* I'll be a granddad before I get to play this.

Yeah, me too, and my son is only eight :p

Hoping we'll see something positive in the next year or two... For me HL(2) is the zenith of first person shooters, and I will be more excited, for a true sequel, than any other game... there is something about the atmosphere of the HL universe, that is unrivalled.

Just played through episode 2 again recently as its been a while. It made me realise even though its been so long if hl3 was to be announced it would be straight to the top of my most anticipated list. Episode 2 still holds up well today although the strider part with the sticky bombs was quite annoying and boring but its still a great game.
I do wonder if this game has been in development for years already as you could imagine they would spend several years on this and it seems fitting they would do a trilogy especially with the cliffhanger of ep 2.

Probably just going to get L4D3 as it seems to sell well on consoles :(. I dont know the sales figures, but i'd imagine HL3 is only highly anticipated by a small PC community. Which is fine, but why leave it open ended and then not finish it? Bit of a kick in the teeth.
