Hey guys,

I got my Dominator 2x1GB PC2-8500 set in this morning and I've set the speed and timings etc., the bios shows the default speed setting as 1066mhz (however my CPU o/c multiplier (400x9 - I can get 1066MHz @ 444x8 but the system won't POST) will only let me select 1000mhz or 1280mhz so I opted for 1000 as I didn't want to push it) but in windows, CPU-z only shows the max bandwidth as PC2-6400 400mhz... But the 'part number' for the RAM states CM2x1024-8500CSD. Is CPU-z having a spaz? or have I been miss-sold my RAM?

Or of course, have I bodged up the bios settings (probably a high chance... lol)

Is there another dedicated memory testing program out there that I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance.

OK cool that's good to know, so how do I find out exactly what speed it's running at? Is there a program that just does ram?

That's cool, nice to know it's running at the right speed... How about why CPU-z is showing it as PC2-6400 when Sandra shows them as PC2-8500... Also, CPU-z keeps fluctuating my CPU core speed between 3600.2MHz and 2400.2MHz... Again, any ideas? I just don't think CPU-z likes my setup!

That's good to know :)

Thanks for your help guys

I've iven up trying to get it to run at 1066MHz now as with my bios multiplier/frequency options I was only able to run 1066MHz with stock 3.0GHz CPU clock or at 3.83GHz which wasn't entirely stable... So I've opted for 1000MHz RAM speed and 3.6GHz CPU :)

I don't immagine 66MHz will have that much of a detrimental effect on performance will it? Not noticable in everyday usage anyway...
