Possible Last System Build

well most of use seem to be reccomending the i5 sandybridge over the i7 3820 sandybridge-e. Has anyone got experience with the both of them and if so what was ur opinion on them

2500K vs 3820

The gaming benchmarks are near the end, there's nothing in it - an overclocked i5 is ideal for gaming :)
Also, the i5 uses less power too.

Of course, nothing wrong with a 3820 if you want it - but I'd get better graphics/monitor if it were me

i had that gigabyte board shorlisted for him so its in the running.

i noticed some people complain about whine and clicking from the 750w version of the XFX. ive a corsair and its super so i though i would stick to that. he can decide which he wants tho.

if there is a 680 on offer and in stock the day hes buying then we could swap the 580 out if he wants.

This is on offer, for £30 more a 680 makes more sense:

is this based on a bad 1 off personal experience. whats wrong with yours?

it got a gold award review at hardwareheaven who are legit as anyone. i would love to give this card a try.

Whiny humming fans do my nut in. And brown pcb. WUT! Brown?! Crazy.

Mine clocks quite well though. Except the memory, which barely clocks at all. (+10mhz max)

But also it's a lot of money to spend on the 580 for OP when you can get 7970 for similar
