Possible memory issue on 5900x setup

Hello,

I'd be grateful for any pointers.

My system:
Ryzen 5900x at base clock
Asus Crosshair VIII Hero
2 16gb sets of the following: CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 (i.e. 4x 8gb sticks) with the XMP* profile enabled which bumps it to 3600mhz (*or whatever AMD equivalent is called). Timings: 18-22-22-42
RTX 2060
Windows 10 boots off a decent SSD

I've checked the QVL list for this mobo/cpu combo and the RAM above does not appear on the list in this 32gb configuration. It does however appear in the 16gb configuration. I've had the system about 2 weeks and I purchased the RAM beforehand hence my error.

The system hasn't been massively unstable but the other morning it did fail to post with the 1x short beep 2x long beep warning (which according to mobo manual is a memory error). It only did this once. It was fine after a restart and has been ever since.

Where I have experienced instability is when playing Escape from Tarkov. The game crashes regularly and it didn't on my previous system. However it must be noted that EFT is being patched all the time and is beta so new issues could be introduced with patches.

I ran memtest the other day after it failed to post but it didn't detect any issues.

Overall I just get this feeling that these issues may be related to the memory configuration;

i) Does it necessarily matter that this RAM doesn't appear on the QVL list for 2x 16gb sets?
ii) Is the XMP profile a likely cause, particularly with the failure to POST w/memory error? If so should I just run it at base clock of 2133mhz?
iii) Is this RAM a bad choice? (I've seen some say it's really designed for Intel platforms).
iv) Any other recommendations?

Many thanks
