Okay, I've got an Asus P8Z68 Gen 3 Pro motherboard, and I've bought a GTX 570 to go with it.
Yesterday, my GTX 570 kept saying, "Error code 43, Windows has blocked this because your driver reported a fault".
But after changing the primary GPU device in BIOS from auto to PCI-E, it worked! However, after my playing BF3 for about 30min - 1 hour, my PC crashed. After restarting, It went back to the issue of "Not functioning properly, error code 43".
This time, the fact that it's set to PCI-E in the BIOS makes no difference, as I've tried everything today, from simply cleaning out drivers, reinstalling windows, trying a second card (which also didn't work) and moving PCI-E lanes.
I have no idea what is going on, It's incredibly fustrating.
The highest my resolution now goes is 1280x1024, so although device manager detects it is a GTX 570 installed, it isn't allowing it to work properly.
Specs are:
Crucial 256GB 2.5" M4
Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155
MSI GTX 570 TWIN FROZR III Power Edition 1280MB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card
Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Socket 1155 DVI VGA HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24)
Seagate 1TB Hard Drive
Coolermaster V8 Cooler
Corsair 850W AX850 Modular PSU
