Each time my pc powers up it starts up for a few seconds and then like "cuts out", i've removed all possible just incase the PSU cant handle the equipment inside but still getting the same problem.

Specs:

Asus P5K-E/Wifi_AP
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz
Corsair XMS DDR2 2GB Pair
EVGA Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB
3xSamsung 200GB Sata 2 HDDs
1x WD 500GB Sata 2 HDD
Hiper Type-R 580W Modular PSU

for the record i dont get to see POST, sometimes it'll boot up fine, but this is what happens mostly

You haven't just flashed the BIOS, have you ? many borked boards from BIOS flashes.....

Also having a similar problem and have tracked it down to my gfx card (see here)

I'm having the same problem with my asus board, all the fans spin up but screen stays blank. Just tried something that someone said to me, and that was to remove all the usb attached devices bar keyboard and mouse. I tried this and it boots fine, narrowed it down to the printer (HP deskjet)

strange I know, but with the printer switched on the pc black screens.

i disconnected my GFX and reslotted it in and started up fine, just a little concerned that its gonna re-occur

See, that is what happened to me on my P5WDH......couple of times over a few weeks the system just span up and did nothing more.....removing the gfx card (and pulling the CMOS battery) sorted things and I was fine again for a while - then same thing again :(

Now, I cannot get either my old P5WDH or new Maximus to fire up/POST with the GTX installed and have thus got the RMA process started.....both boards work fine with other gfx card !

problem re-occured again! this time just removed the USB keyboard and mouse connector and started fine, would it be worth looking for a new BIOS update see if that will help?

I had the exact same problem with my BFG 680i mb had to keep disconnecting my usb mouse and key board and reinsert. Updating the bios didnt correct the issue either eventually i had to rma my board. Never had a repeat performance since. I hope the new bios update when it becomes available corrects the problem you have.
