Morning guys, I need to pick your brains if thats ok?
I fear I may be having some sort of hardware issue so here goes...........
My virgin media connection has been a rock solid 60mb on my iMac but all of a suuden when i did a speed test, my speed hit 60 and then decreased rapidly to around 23 mb and that was with a wired connection, My windows laptop was still hitting 60 with wired though.
I then had to move my iMac upstairs into the attic office and the wifi connection was dropping out all the time as the network was saying that I had a self assigned IP and could not connect to the internet.
I sort of resolved this by resetting my virgin hub and my netgear router but now when I do a speed test I am only getting 5mb on wireless but my iPhone is getting around 20mb.
Do you think my network card/adapter in my iMac is playing up and whet are the rough costs in getting it repaired/replaced?
Thanks in advance

The first thing I would do is change the channel of your router. Download inSSIDer and see what channels your neighbours are using. It might not be the problem but it's quick and free to try.
