Hey guys looking to upgrade my pc at easter but buy the parts slowly over the next few months. currently i have

i7 920 (water cooled)
Aus p6t mobo
6gb ram
40gb SSD (OS Hard drive)
CM Cosmos case

what parts could i / would be best to upgrade ? are there any new processors coming out as i wanted to re do the mobo but dont know what to go for ?

thanks ive been out the loop for a while so not sure whats coming soon. thanks !

not sure why you'd want to upgrade from that. Its still pretty much top spec. You could argue for a better GFX either a GTX580 (hard to get hold of) or a 6970, but I doubt you'll see much difference.
You could upgrade your SSD either to a 2nd in raid 0 for space and performance or just get bigger ones.

O get rid of that butt ugly case :D

Really depends what you are using the PC for, what screen/res you are running at and what you budgets are, but personally I'd spend my money else where.

yeah its money specifically for yearly pc upgrades :p

i run 2 screens only 1920x1080 each though
pc is used for gaming primarily aswell as work
yeah i want the corsair case to fit all my watercooling inside

TBH, if its for mainly playing games an overclocked i7 920 will not be holding you back.

Hence better graphics is the way to go as far as I see it.

The GTX 580 seems to be the best single GPU upgrade at the minute - but that costs ~£400 and in terms of average framerates it will not beat two 5850s in crossfire.

yeah i figured upgrading the cpu may not be effective, especially as it means a new waterblock aswell. however i did want to upgrade the mobo as i have some problems with this one, it being one of the first i7 boards. then get whatever the best gpu and ssd are april time. though im not sure if thats a good move and miss out on sandybridge till this time next year : /
