I sold some speakers on the internet, they were Yamaha speakers for £270 plus shipping. They were in 2 large 22kg box's each as they were floor standing speakers.

I arranged for collection with myHermes. Someone came on 11/03/19 at just past mid-day and collected them, I never thought anything of it but he never gave me a collection card. The person just had a while van and I noticed other parcels in there also.

Have just checked tracking data at myHermes and last information says collection attempted at 11/03/19 at 18:27, this is around 6 hours after the 2 parcels were actually collected.

Will contact myHermes tomorrow however have I just been scammed by the collection driver?

tbat does sound worrying as myhermes driver has to log it as a collection failed, fingers crossed for you that was just an error and not deliberate and speakers reach destination.

Sounds very much in keeping with myherpes :p

Worst courier since ****ylink.

Although royal fail aren't far behind these days. The clowns moved one of my bins under my car port and stuck a parcel behind it the other week. If it wasnt for the parking sensors on my new car I'd have hit the damn thing. Idiots.

So you're saying they collected them at noon, and that night you were worried they were missing? Yet to be scanned into the system IMO. I generally take the first 24 hours with a pinch of salt with delivery tracking as it's yet to have its first update.

It's a shame you didn't get a receipt but TBF I don't think I've ever been given one when Hermes collect (only 3-5 times mind).

Thanks for everyone that replied, it looks like everything is ok. I'll put down below everything that happened since last post.

I live in Crewe, and at 2am yesterday I phoned the Hermes depot in Crewe, a chap there checked all the packages looking for 2 large Yamaha speaker box's but found nothing, at this point i'm getting quite worried.

The collection was booked via Parcel2Go, so just after 8am I contacted Parcel2Go on their live chat. I was told basically the same as what I was seeing on tracking information, Parcel2Go did say the driver should have scanned in front of me, and left a collection recite, neither of these happened. Parcel2Go said they only had email contact with Hermes and it would be 1-2 days for a response.

So I then contacted Hermes head office before 9am this morning, explained the situation and eventually got a really helpful person who made a phone call while I waited on the phone. From what I can understand, because the items to be collected are large there is another third party courier (not a Hermes courier) that collected the items. Hermes has spoken to the manager of the other courier and they have confirmed by phone they have my items, i'm told sometime today the items will show as collected once they enter the Hermes dept. I'm told the other courier only works with paper, and this is why the system has not updated.

So it looks like everything is ok, and i'm just waiting now for the items to eventually show as accepted by Hermes. I hope everyone can understand my concerns given I had no collection recite and the tracking system was attempted re-collection.

They are a complete joke. They claimed a £200 order had been delivered and signed for. This had not happened (having checked CCTV) and they never even provided a response back to the shop the order was made from. Fortunately I got my money back.

Hermes are terrible, don't ever you use them. A driver stole my girlfriend's headphones she had ordered and just handed an empty box to her mum when it was delivered.

Just do a quick search on Google and you will see its very common practice for their drivers to steal items.

Apart from the odd missed collection I've never had any issues with them either sending or receiving.

Throwing your postage labelled goods into the local canal and saying a little prayer is a more effective way of getting things delivered than using that shower of #%*|.

As with most areas it's pretty area specific :( They';ve been a notable improvement for me in recent moths.

Far prefer DPD as they have a local collection depot :)

Interestingly enough, humans come with these things in the front of their head - I hear they really help with activities like driving :p

Our bins get moved around by the missus, wind, the bin men etc and I’ve not managed to hit them yet - and my parking sensors have been broken for years :D

Hermes are area specific as above - I send around 120-150 items a week with them and the loss rate isn’t something I’m too concerned about.
Perhaps about 1-2 per week at most - so less than 1% at a guess. Given I only leave low value goods in their care, that’s fine by me.
Royal Mail was closer to 3% until I got fed up with them!

I do have to reverse into my space though and i tend to watch the post and fence either side to gauge my position and keep an eye peeled for traffic. It's tricky being house number one right on a corner with a fence obscuring what is coming :(

They drive like loons round my way too, come flying round the corner then get arsey with you for reversing into your own space!

So what's behind me is last on my mind :p

I'm surprised no one has mentioned amazon logistics yet, I think they are definitely up there for being complete crap a lot more often than they should.

nope they have improved loads. I have a safe location (wheelie bin) and recently they have added photos so whenever they deliver they leave a pic on the website. Previously the driver used to phone me to ask what to do with the parcel if they couldn't get it through the letterbox.

As with most courier services you have your bad eggs.

Just a small update on this. Since my call before 9am this morning, Hermes tracking has still not updated as collected, this was despite being told it will update today and the 3rd party courier who collected my parcels has them. The only update on my tracking is 'Enquiry Raised' at 8:33am. My gut feeling is there is still something very wrong happening. Have just phoned them again but can't get in contact with the person I spoke to this morning, someone else did take my details again.
