Hi everyone,

My setup and what happened

Abit ip35-pro, Q6600, 8800GT, 4GB Ram, Win vista 32.

I swapped out the 8800GT for a GTX460.

Uninstalled old drivers, fitted gpu, booted successfully, installed new drivers, rebooted successfully.

While it was loading the desktop and doing some other stuff it switched off. Now after i power it on, switches off again after about 5-6 seconds.

Anyone had anything similar? Could it be the PSU not having enough juice? If thats the case why did it boot and load properly with the new card installed?

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Im on the same comp now and its stable.

After some trial and error the PC powers off when I run a GPU crunching app BOINC. So i think it might be my PSU not having enough juice for the card.

The rig I have is an OCUK gaming one from a few years back (see hardware in OP).

Pretty sure it was a top end branded PSU from back then. Either way, looks like I might need a new one.
