I am currently with Orange, and have just recieved a letter that my broadband costs are going to increase from £19 to £24 per month because my package no longer exists, and I am not on the LLU system. My current 8mb Unlimited is being replaced, and because I am not LLU, there is an extra charge.( I am currently sorting this out, as the exchange has Orange LLU and the info they have is wrong, but thats for another day.);)

Anyways, would anyone recommend any of the "all in one" packages on offer. Such as Orange Home max or Sky/talk/broadband?

In fairness, I have probably paid a little over the odds for my broadband for a couple of years, but I have been averaging 4 meg plus easily, with no throttling, and I cannot remember the last time I was disconnected, so understandably, I was/am loathe to change. But, with increasing costs of BT line rental etc, I am wondering whether an all in one package may save me some money, without any compromise on my services. My phone/brodband combo is costing roughly £50 per month. I am out of contract, so moving is not a problem. If I can sort out the issues, and remain at £19 per month, I will probably stay as I am, but I need to be prepared if Orange are unable to sort it out.

I have Sky+ and Multiroom, so Sky BB is an option. Other providers in my area include AOL, TalkTalk, Orange and BT.

Care to share your experiences? Any recommendations? Any to avoid like the plague?

Thanks.
:)

Switched from BT to Tiscali. BT expensive but good speeds (except between 5-7pm).Tiscali cheap but very poor speeds.
BT averages were : 2500.00Kbps/3500.00kbps down
350.00 Kbps up

Tiscali: 2500.00kbps (never greater than this and now much lower 500.00kbps/1500.00kbps) Down

80.00 Kbps up (never gone above 81.00kbps!!!!).

Both services are upto 8mbps.

Unfortunately not. Some of my home town has it, but not near me. :(

BT Wholesale WBC has set an enablement date of 31/03/2010 for my exchange, whatever that means.
