Possible PS3 Problems with Overuse ??

Just posting to see if there is any potential issues with overheating etc on a PS3?

Only reason i ask is i recently went away for a week, only to return to find my PS3 had been switched on permanently 24 hours a day for a week with my tiger woods disc continually spinning round the whole time

Some idiot went in my room on the first day i had left to reboot the modem/router in my room and had knocked the power switch on my PS3 switching it on, yes they have been shouted at a lot!

Well possibly, but there's not much you can do about it!

Just remember to switch it off at the main switch when you go away in future

Yes, the Wii overheats too. Count yourself lucky you didn't come home and your house was on fire.

I thought the PS3 shut down after being idle for x amount of time. Did I just imagine that feature?

i reckon if it had been a 360 it wouldnt have lasted the first 24hr..

It's fine, some people have had theirs on 100% CPU usage on folding at home for months.
