Hello all,

My current config is:

OCZGXS 850W
Asus p5kpl am se
Q6600
Radeon HD 4890
2 x 2GB
DVD drive
Blue Ray Drive
HD Drive

Came home last night to find my PC wouldn't boot and my mobo light was flashing on and off. I think there was some sort of power cut or power surge during the day as I also had problems with other appliances.

I've stripped out my computer and I get the same problem not matter what I test. I've even taken out my CPU, leaving only the mobo and psu connected. No change, still doesn't work. So I presume my PSU is fried?

Any ideas for a replacement PSU? System is quite old, do I really need 850W?

Cheers

Thought the 5850 was a dual GPU which is why it performed better than then 6850? Happy to be wrong though lol.

The 5850 was a single GPU, I did run 2 in crossfire before going over to the Nvidia 480 GTX.

Yeah it does sound like it could be the PSU. Do you use a surge protector?

There are many decent quality PSUs about such as OCZ, Corsair, Seasonic and XFX. These brands are the ones I'd personally look at:)
