Hi there,
I'm having real issues with a 3DMax file where it keps crashing every 5-10 minutes and you can see the free ram drop in the task manager usually before it does so.
I have 6 gig ram in a brand new black-ops rig bought from ocuk and i would have thought 6 gig could handle what im throwing at it as its not exactly a huge complex scene.
In one of my 3d forums someone said they reckon its a faulty stick of ram and suggested i start windows with one stick at a time and see if windows fails to boot with one of them.
Before i do so, is that safe enough to so? I though with ram you had to install it in sets of 3 every time. So will it be ok if i boot with just 1? Also, if so is there a specific slot to use or will any do?
Thanks
