Hi Guys,

Maybe a stupid question but I've literally never replaced a CMOS battery.

Is a CMOS battery simply a 3V coin battery?

Or do they differ per motherboard / manufacturer?

Cheers.

a CMOS battery is usually just a cm3032 battery, and I don't think that they differ from Motherboard to Motherboard, I think they all use the same battery.
You could check on the top of the current battery, as it will say on the top what kind it is.

No, they're usually CR2032 batteries, and yes, some motherboards use different batteries so check first.
