As per title. Is there a way to access files on the other device?

Both tablet (Asus TF301) and phone (Nexus 5) are rooted if it makes any difference.

On both I'm using ES File Explorer to access my NAS and PC but they don't see each other.

One more question. To play media from NAS I use free version of BS Player. Is there better aps to do this?

Thanks

I haven't done this in a long while but it's possible to do this with ES file explorer, no root required. For the device with the files you want to access, on the home page of the app, press the menu button, then under "Tools" is "Remote Manager". Enable this and it will give you a FTP address. Then on the other device, under "Network" there should be an FTP option. Click "New" and add the server setting of the other device, and you should be able to connect to it.

Under the "Remote Manager" screen click settings, then on root directory pick the SD card. Not sure which one will be since both my phone and tablet does not have a mini SD card slot, but I would assume it will be called something under external memory.
