Nothing in particular. It's just that I updated the bios on a really old laptop recently. I never had any floppies so put the file on a CD and had to burn using 'floppy emulation' in order to get to dos. I was wondering how it worked.
I think the bios came with 'caldera boot strapper' or something, is that the standard 'app' to get into dos?
Also, I said ".....best way to boot a XP system in pure dos mode". Am I right in saying the OS does not matter in the slightest when booting into DOS? i.e it's completely independent of the OS?
I ask only as i'm sure I remember an option in windows 95/98 to "restart in dos mode"??
