Possible to change Steam chat font size?

Hey all,

I don't know if my eyes are going but when sitting ~75cm away from my 1440p monitor, the font size is so small and the light grey on dark grey text is such a nightmare to see easily!

Is there a way to make just the chat text bigger?

Main chat window -> cog -> size & scaling > chat font size -> large

you would think it would be in the main settings to however...
