Possible to convert AIO to Custom loop?

My GPU is my old 980Ti EVGA Hybrid and tbh, it's fine for the few games I play so I'm loathed to buy anything new for the sake of it (and considering the value of the 980, seems a bit counterproductive to buy a dedicated waterblock for the card)..

So is it feasible cut the existing radiator off the AIO loop and connect it to a custom water loop (to be ordered and built) ???

The internal diameter of AIO tubing tends to be quite small compared to what you'd likely want to use in a custom loop.
Probably wouldn't be worth it as it would restrict the loop for everything else assuming you plan to have your CPU on the same loop...

Thanks for the info. Maybe worth just keeping the AIO setup until GPU upgrade time then?
