Basically as said in the title, I want to keep the front of my case as bare as possible when I get round to modding it, and I want to mount a load of knobs into the roof of the case to control all the fans.

Only thing is I only have some very basic electrical wiring type skills, so I've no idea where to start?

It's a good plan, I'd need at least 6 though, so I'll need at least a £20 controller, and then there's still no garentee it will fit in between the roof panel and the drive bays.

Can't be that tricky can it? Just a variable knob adjuster thing and wire them all up? :P

Why not just do a 7v mod on all the fans (google will tell you how) and 5v all the smaller fans.

Once setup just set your overclocks from there and maybe readjust when spring comes round?

Cost = nothing
Time = very little
?

It's very very easy to make it uself the only problem ur going to find is finding the right dimmer switch (the right look anyway). Effectively all ur looking for is a variable resisitor. Pretty much all that is involved in wiring up is to cut the power cable with one end going into the dimmer and one going out. Mind u this has all been said by everyone else. But really in terms of electrical skills this is the easiest thing u could make.

I can do that easily then, I've been rewiring motorbike looms for years, but nothing circuit boardy or anything, is it really just a variable resistor? Thought there would be more to it than that!

Cheers for the help everyone! Don't suppose any of you know what rating resistor it will need or anything? :P
