Hi guys I'm looking for a little help , i currently have the p55 m ud4, as my 580 covers the only pci-e slot I'm forced to use the other x8 pci-e slot for my x-fi titanium which forces my 580 to run in x8 instead of x16, i know its not a huge difference but all the same i don't want the 580 restricted as I'm overclocking it as well. The solution i see is to get the p55a-ud4 which has three x1 pci-e slots thus allowing me to run the 580 in full x16 mode. As both boards use the P55 chipset would it be a case of a straight swap without a os reinstall as the thought of installing everything again would probably make me leave it and get p67 in due time.

Sounds like a lot of trouble and expense.

At most you're looking at 1-2% difference between x8 and x16. Something you won't even notice.

Is it worth it?

i know this is outside the scope of the thread, but I really want a p55m-ud4 board and cannot find one ANYWHERE! If you are going to swap boards, would you be interested in selling your current board? I would have trusted you this message, but you haven't enabled it!
