Possible to turn this single slot network point into a double?

Hey guys

Forgive my ignorance here but can I simply buy a different fascia plate for this network point and upgrade to dual point connectivity? I am unable to attach a switch to this point as no power nearby and want to tidy up the mess of cables I have in my room:

Is this doable by myself or should I find a company who can install networks to do the work instead?

Cheers

OK great thank you for confirming this - as it happens the cable currently installed is only Cat 5e so I was tempted to get it ripped out anyways as I want to avoid the radiation of wireless (and have some Cat 6 stuff here ready to install).

Thanks man.

Dude wireless radiation has been linked to a multitude of degenerative diseases and/or serious health problems. Google it if you don't believe me.

It's only going to get worse as the wireless telecommunications technology becomes more embedded in our daily lives.

But yer keep using your Microwave oven, eating fish from the Pacific ocean (after Fukushima) and using wireless if thats what you wanna do just try to avoid making fun of the people like myself who have actually had the due diligence to research the subject thoroughly and armed ourselves with the right information to avoid cancer and Alzhemers etc.

Sorry that sounds way harsher than is intended lol!

Whilst I agree it is healthy to be skeptical about the veracity of information I direct you to:

http://www.bioinitiative.org/report/wp-content/uploads/pdfs/BioInitiativeReport2012.pdf

This was a study performed in 2012 by a group of 29 scientists. The conclusion(s) speak for themselves.

I would urge you start arming yourself with the right information guys - WiFi (according to many other independent studies in addition to this one) does in fact present a real danger to human health and my choice to turn it off is entirely my own free will.

I would therefore ask to not be the subject of ridicule for taking precautionary steps to reduce the damage in the privacy of my own home.

Thank you.

I am not even going to open it, i couldn't care less and dont buy into any of it. I was joking and answered your question where you can indeed install a double faceplate :)

You don't buy into any of it? What an incredible statement!

Are you able to please supply the wealth of research and/or evidence (preferably peer-reviewed) that you have drawn upon in order to show us factually how you reached such a conclusion? I am eager to be enlightened by your wisdom Sir!

Provision of this will surely remove any doubt in my mind that the last two years of extensive research into this topic (by myself and others) has been fruitless and not worth the time!

If only I had known back then that I could have come onto the Overclockers UK forum and heard it first-hand from 'Jez' that there is nothing to fear and its all a massive hoax.

:p

Thought I'd leave you guys with this quote from Aristotle:

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without necessarily agreeing with it"

How educated do you feel?

How much wiggle room does the existing cable have?

I'd tie 2x new cables together at one end, then tie them to the existing cable that's in the wall and pull them through.

Its cool man I've got a dude coming over to do the building work as I am keen to get a new socket in another room for my dad coming from the same point downstairs.

I thank you all (especially Jez) for your contributions xoxo

Microwave = non ionising radiation its literally impossible for food cooked in one to cause mutation from contact or consumption. If the radiation leakage from a microwave was significant enough to cause any long term effects due to the nature of how it works under those circumstances the fluid in your eyes would boil within a meter or so of it.

WiFi is a more complicated story as long term close proximity to a transmitter could potentially impact on health depending on a number of factors.

Again I would urge you to look more carefully into this dude:

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/05/18/microwave-hazards.aspx

There have been several studies performed by independent organisations and/or groups of scientists collecting empirical data on the safety of Microwave ovens and when you actually bother to read through this wealth of data it paints a very different picture to that which you have described.

Saying this my parents still have one (not that I'm hugely happy about it!) but there you go!

No worries Jez my response was a little hot headed I was a few pints down by that point haha :P

Dr Mercola is fantastic - check out his videos on Youtube as well.

Peace all and thanks for the replies :)
