Just got this email from system active about the Varjo event later this month… seems highly suggestive that Varjo have something for the consumer market

speculations on a post card please!

As someone who has purchased the HP Reverb G2 and has a keen interest in VR, we’re excited to let you know about an announcement coming 21st October from the world leading VR/XR manufacture, Varjo technologies.

Join Varjo for a special launch event, broadcast live from Varjo's headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. VR-3 for the mass market ?

A bargain at only £3k I’m sure! :D

With that email I’m pretty convinced it’s their entry into the consumer market, but the question for me is just how high they price it.

Shaping up to be an interesting year or so for VR I think - HTC have an event on the 14th for something, this Varjo Event on the 21st, facebook connect at the end of the month with a good chance we'll see quest 2 Pro and maybe quest 2 plus, then you have all the valve deckard leaks pointing to something upcoming from Valve... on top of all that you have the pretty promising sounding PSVR2.

I think 2022 is likely going to be a good year for VR enthusiasts!

So potentially add a new pimax to the list too… in 2022 we’ll be spoiled for choice.

I do find it funny how HTC, Varjo, and now pimax are all squeezing in announcements ahead of Facebook connect at the end of the month. They must expect Facebook to be launching new hardware and want to get out in front of it.

I’ve heard suggestions the HTC flow is likely to be a more AR and productivity based headset than specific for gaming though, perhaps a counter to the lynx.

So looks like there will be some YouTubers spilling the beans at 13:00 uk time… odd given that the event isn’t until a bit later but the NDA expires then apparently.

MRTV for example has had his for a while apparently, and will already be doing a full review once the NDA expires…

Not long to go!
