Feel my pc needs updating(im loving dirt 2 but cant max it out like i want) the [email protected] is good but showing its age,the 8800gt struggles with modern games on high.
also have 4gb corsair ddr2/2x sammy 750gb in raid 0 and really dont want expense of new mb&ram as next step would be i5/i7

, im thinking of these to upgrades

i'm confedent my mobo support's q9550(with the bios update), my concern is with my power supply(can't remember the brand but it was a good quality 450w)and only having 1 6pin power connector, any one running a 5850 on 450w with no issues, and is there a solution for only having 1 6pin plug(do have spare molex.

any help greatly appreciated and happy xmas;)

Your current psu should just be enough, just check the Asus website and you should be fine with a BIOS update.

Your e6600 is still a good chip, i would just upgrade the graphics card.

If your psu is able to run a 5850 you will need this to convert two molex to 6 pin pcie, i think the card will come with one though.

*EDIT*

Just read the specs for Dirt 2 and it does recommend a quad core cpu to max things out.
