So I've decided that I do want to upgrade, mainly because i want to move up to Haswell/SATA6/USB3 etc. Yes I know the difference between what I have now wont be huge, but you know. :)

But before I buy can you guys answer a couple of things?

- The SSD, is the PRO worth the extra over the EVO?
- Following on from this thread, I was originally going to go for the 'Rock Creek' bundle, but its been replaced with, amongst others, this one.. Is the Asus Z87-A as good as the Z87 Pro I know the PRO has wifi, more USB and SATA ports etc, but performance wise they are the same? Was looking at this - http://promos.asus.com/us/Z87/comparison/

Obviously everything else will come out of my current build (Link in sig) apart from the case which will be a Corsair 300R. Any pointers? Ta. :)

So I take it the Samsung EVO is the way to go? As in its the best of the bunch right now over the likes of Crucial, Corsair etc?

What about the MB, the Z87-A is good? Still not 100% on the colours mind you....!

Well that board is part of the bundle, because i cant/dont want to faff around overclocking it, I'm happy to let OcUK do that.

As for the RAM, no reason really, figured if I'm going to do it I may as well get 16gb....?

How about this....?

1 x ReAct Configurable SLI Pro Gaming Bundle - Gigabyte Z87 - Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.3GHz £144.00

That bundle is nice, good find. :)

Personally i'd take the K2 over the H80i, though you need to make sure it fits in your case. More money saving. :)

You won't need 16GB unless you start video or photo editing. Games aren't using 8GB currently, most not much more than 4GB. So 16GB is a little wasteful, especially at the current inflated price of RAM, i'd save another £50 or so, and go with 8GB.

The Evo is a good choice.

Fair enough, What about the RAM, TeamGroup Elite Black or Avexir Venom Green?

Thanks for your help. :D

Ok, I've been reading on here and elsewhere of a few issues with the G1 Sniper. Kinda puts me off a bit, Probably nothing i know, and you always hear the bad stuff more....

But, I'm toying with the idea of this now... :o

I hate bumping threads, but can anyone confirm that is a decent board/bundle? All the reviews of the Z87X-UD3H seem very favourable. Will be ordering today with any luck.

Thanks
:)

Good bundle.

Great board, stunning looking heatsink, matching ram too (but a bit boring on the speed).

Mostly the speed yes.

When you compare the prices of 1600MHz vs faster ram (maybe not corsair prices but others like Team are similarly priced) it makes sense to get the faster rated stuff?

Personally I think I'd for for the Sniper... I believe I'm correct in saying that there was one or two people that had to RMA their mobo because it didn't work. But you wont risk that because OCUK have to make sure the board works while OCing the CPU :) also... you get faster RAM and imo it looks nicer.

Thats a great point actually, at least you know it had to have worked at sometime during its life.

Bloody hell, I'm well out of touch with hardware stuff theses days.... :(

Sorry for all the questions guys. :o

Yeah indeed I totally agree, in fact i see the same Vengeance kit in Silver at 1866Mhz is the same price as the 1600Mhz Blue stuff (£150). Would the higher speed have any effect on the overclock etc, and would it actually make a noticeable difference?

Fair enough, but am I missing something, you say its faster but that one is still 1600Mhz? :)
