The actual unit itself isnt too bad, but the supplied fans are noisy. If you have to then buy extra fans this adds to the overall costs. I suspect though that a lot of people buying theese may well have their own spare fans lying about, (bit of a fan collector here to lol).
Shouldn't be that loud, being the "i" you can control the fan speeds via the link software, there are quiet, balanced, full speed, fixed rpm, or custom modes.
The full speed will be offensive to the ears, the quiet or balanced should be ok as they are the same fans as used on the H100i.
I positioned my camera 2ft away from the actual H100i while recording the on-screen RPM fan control, the cameras microphone is set to the same default level as used in my fan review.
