Possible upgrade options.....

......that are as cheap as possible.

At present have a i5-2500K and while good for the majority of stuff I throw at it, have noticed that it is struggling with the main use I have at presetn...that is running image integration on PixInsight (astro photograhpy stuff).

I did think of just getting an i7-2600K as can keep me memory and GFX and also not have to break the loop on my watercooling setup, but was wondering what would be the cheapest and best option for an upgrade path at the moment?

I want to keep the gfx and memory so as to keep the costs right down, so will be looking at CPU, mobo and waterblock
 
Sorry...should add that at moment have 2 x 7970's in x-fire.

Someone on one of the astro forums did mention getting a 4790K and mobo...but not sure on that one. Have been out of the loop for computer upgrading and tinkering for a fair while now so have absolutley no clue as to what is what...sorry
 
Did overclock but not sure if it is still running as have had a fair few initial startup restart where it looks like it is going to start, but pauses then reboots.

Also game at 5760 x 1200 with a 3 monitor Eyefinity setup
