Anything look wrong or incompatible?
Currently have a main ddr2 system asus p5q-e with a E8200 and a ATI Radeon HD 4800 (don`t game as much now so was thinking of reusing this ? )
Got all the rest of the bits 850 watt corsair psu hdds, opticals etc
maybe a newer ssd?currently using a crucial 128gb sata2 as boot drive

Still thinking so nothing is set in stone yet:)

No plans on sli or xfire. Not as big a gamer as i once was(getting too old lol )
Just wanted some new `toys`
Does that retail cpu come with a HS? or is it worth getting an aftermarket one as i plan on haveing a play on OC again?

also thoughts on a ssd?will a sata2 ssd that i have give me any problems to reuse?at least for a while as the cost seems to keep creeping up:(

The retail cpu does come with a stock intel heatsink.

As for the SSD, if it uses a older generation Sandforce controller then it may cause issues (you can Google this issue).

Apparently this old ssd uses the indilix controller, can`t see any problems relating to this on the web

If it works it will keep the initial cost down, planning on getting this kit in a few weeks when i am on my summer hols :D

Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic

tempted by this, supposed to be a sort of software app coming soon that increases the read and write enormously (any thoughts on this drive, good?or bad with my selection of kit above?)
also if I plump for an after market cooler and fan what should I be looking for?
suggestions please on these as I am already happy with my choice of mobo, cpu and memory :)

Case is a coolermaster HAF 932 so plenty of room for a monster cooler
Budget not really got one i suppose £30- £50 prefer lower price range.Been out of the upgrading market for a while so am after a few suggestions on what is considered `good`atm

Any idea when the EVO ssds will be out for sale at OCUK?

Just taken delivery of the above items :D
Pre ordered the 256 GB samsung evo(hoping for this by the weekend)
Just a better than standard HSF to get now
Had a look at a 775 HS i got spre the pins look sooooo close but i take it they are `close but no cigar? `

What make and model is the HS, as it may have 1156/1155 compatibility.

coolermaster hyper tx3 says 1155/1156 compatible though
Also got an asus square I think on my `main to be replaced by new gear)not checked that out until I strip it

Lion Square, Silent Square EVO, Arctic Square and Axe Square AMAzing CPU Socket Compatibility .

Intel LGA 775 AMD 754/939/940
AMD AM2/AM2+/socket F(1207)/1207+

The Coolermaster hyper tx3 1155/1156 will be OK.

775 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2

good news then.it is the silent square that is on my current main machine. had a better look at the cooler master and I need to move the arms to the other screw holes.these are overlapping the775 holes currently in use. which is why I did not see them:D

I would use it for the time being and keep your eye on the MM for a decent cooler. There have been some nice bargains just lately.

Yeah good idea :)was idling in the bios at 48 oC with the stock cooler, was fitted correctly too and built out of case to test
Will try out the coolermaster later this eve i think
Nowt in the MM atm :(
