So I've been considering some form of upgrade for ages..... i also want to upgrade to Win8 so figured if I'm doing it I may as well do it all in one go. :)

I'm after one of the Intel overclocked bundles purely for the hassle freeness of it, and that is what i have at the mo and its served me well thus far.

Heres what I've been thinking....

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Rock Creek Gold Rush" Intel i7 4770K @ 4.4GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle £599.99
- 1 x Standard Build Systems - Dispatched within 7 working days £0.00
- 1 x TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYD38G2133HC11ADC01) £69.95
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £149.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £69.95
Total : £899.47 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Obviously will be reusing the rest of my current build (Click spec link in sig)

Whats your thoughts, opinions? Something better that i may have missed?

Thanks. :)

Personally, in your shoes I wouldn't upgrade the cpu. It's still good for a while more imo. The Samsung Evo, though, would be a good purchase; I have one, and I can recommend it.

Standard answer: there's no real need to upgrade from a 920 to Haswell.

I'd agree with that. But if you definitely do want to upgrade, and you definitely do want a bundle, then the Gold Rush one looks good.

Yeah I know what your saying about the CPU, it is good. This is exactly the thing I've been telling myself for the last however long lol.

Main use is gaming.

If I got just the Evo and W8 it would only run at SATA 2 speeds correct?

Thanks. :)

E: Whats the 'next gen' CPU and when would it be expected?

Sorry to bump the thread...

Think i might just go for the bigger SSD and Win8. Anyone see any issues i might face with my current setup?

Nope; looks good.

Intel's next generation is a year or so off (late 2014/early 2015). Haswell-E will arive at some point before the (Q3 2014 according to the latest rumours).
