Hi all,

I am currently running Windows XP on:

C2D E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
2GB Crucial Ballistix
8800GTS 320MB

As christmas is coming up, I was looking to possibly upgrade, but I wasn't sure on what to change. I wouldnt mind changing the mobo at some point but I think I will wait till mid next year and get a new one to go with the new intel processors.

I was thinking about upgrading to Vista, and wanted to know if there was anything that desperately needs upgrading before I move to it. I was thinking a possible 2GB more RAM would tide me over. Also, If I bought Vista OEM now and later upgraded the motherboard, would I have any trouble re-activating?

Many thanks,
gamer

4GB is the sweet spot for Vista, so yes if you were to upgrade anything the RAM would be my first stop.

You would have to reactivate but it shouldn't cause any problems. The only problem would be - will Vista load with the new mobo (i.e. driver problems etc). If going from an Intel chipset > Intel chipset system you would probably be ok. Either way a repair of Vista would get around it even if you did have problems.
