Hey folks,

I have an upgrade itch but I am not sure what would be worth upgrading on my current PC. I was kinda waiting to see what Skylake would bring but from what I am reading it doesn't sound like it is worth it.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K (overclocked to 4.2 GHz)
MOBO: Asus P6Z68-V Pro
PSU: OCZ StealthXSream 2 700W
GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB Twin Frozr V
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Z
O/S: Windows 8.1 64bit
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster T200HD
Mouse+KB: Razer Naga + Corsair K70 Mechanical Keyboard
Fans: Noctua NF-P14s REDUX 900RPM 140mm (x1) + Noctua NF-S12B REDUX 700RPM 120mm (x3)
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H50
Disk drives: Crucial 240GB M50 SSD + Seagate 2TB Desktop SSHD

I installed the GTX970 a couple of months ago to replace an AMD Radeon 7850 and saw a huge FPS increase, so I am very happy with my current GPU. I installed the current fans around that time too.
Not sure if I want to increase the overclock on the CPU, I am a rookie when it comes to overclocking and the current overclock was done by OcUK when I bought the pc from them years ago.

The only thing I can think of replacing is the monitor. The current one does the job but I bought it probably 6 or 7 years ago, so I am guessing today's monitors would be a lot nicer?
A 20 inch monitor fits my desk nicely at the moment but might be able to fit in a 24inch..maybe.
I do find myself having to lean towards to monitor recently to see smaller details etc, so slightly bigger size would be nice.

Main use is gaming, with main games being played are Guild Wars 2(WvW mode) and Next Car Game: Wreckfest. Performance in Wreckfest gets me around 125 FPS but in Guild Wars the FPS drops a lot in big fights..but every player has that problem, so its only a problem I can reduce, not solve.
I do play some strategy games on the side such as Civ5, EU4 and Total War.
I rarely play shooter games these days.

I do a little bit of gameplay recording + editing as well but its far from main use, I consider it a bonus really.

As for budget, not sure really but I am not going mad when I may only be replacing one or two parts. If I replace the monitor then I guess I would be willing to spend upto £300 if it is worth it.

Thanks,
