This is probably a longshot but i don't see any harm in asking....
I work for a school, we're after a cheap server to use as backups machine, we'll be attaching a 12 bay eonstor where all the backups will sit so the server won't be doing that much, just the odd few tasks.
I have a really old Dell poweredge 1600SC but it's on it's last legs and isn't much cop, if anyone has anything in their business they no longer use along the lines of a HP ML110 G5 etc (anything old than the G5 generation probably wouldn't be worth bothering with, i'm hoping to run server 2008R2 on it) and fancy donating or want a few £££ for that'd be ideal.
Thought i'd try this first before we go off and buy an ML110 G6 brand new for £500 or something, as i know what IT departments are like for having old replaced servers laying aorund
