Possibly a stupid question

Hi,

I'm just building a new machine and need a bit of advice on the memory configuration...

The motherboard (Asus P5B Deluxe socket 775) has 4 memroy slots...

Dimm_A1 (Yellow)
Dimm_A2 (black)

Dimm_B1 (Yellow)
Dimm_B2 (black)

Should the 2x 1gb of memory I have go in Dimm A1 & A2 or Dimm A1 & B1?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but the manual didn't help me out.

A1 and B1. The slots of the same colour are the dual-channel slots.

Actually on the P5B (I have one) they will work in dual channel as long as you put one in the first 2 and one in the second 2 slots. So A1 + B2 or A2 + B1 will be fine.

frankly id always colour coordinate them i think thats why they are coloured in the first place ?

Put the ram in the same coloured slots

I would always colour coordinate even if the board said I could mix and match slots, and I always put one of them closest to the CPU then the other dimm in the same colour slot
