Overclocking/System advice

Firstly, I know **** all about overclocking other then it makes your computer faster and hotter!

I'm thinking of buying one of the Ultima OC 8800GTX pre-built systems for gaming and notice that it has a Q6600 overclocked to c. 3.4GHz and 2 Gb Ram overclocked to c. 1000MHz. Means nothing to me but sounds good!

My questions are:

1. If I add more ram, upgrade parts (not motherboard or CPU) etc. is that fact that it overclocked going to cause any issues?

2. If I ever have to update BIOS, will I loose OC settings?

3. Is this a fairly "stable" level of overclocking?

4. To a novice (but someone who likes playing the latest games at max settings) is this system worht considering?

Thanks for any help.

1. add more memory and the overclock may need to be changed if the memory cant run at 1000 (getting 8500 memory will resolve that issue) or the memory timings might need to be changed.

2. for a bios update i ALWAYS reset bios to default settings, but you can just write down the settings or photograph the screens and keep them safe.

3. i would have considered 3ghz to be safe, but they may have cherry picked the processor to get the best ones so you should be fine.

4. yes definately worth considering gtx is top level card at the moment.
