ive got a 460gtx bought aug 2010 which a few weeks ago kept crashing anytime i tried to play a game or watch a video.

i fixed it by reinstalling the gfx card drivers.

then yesterday it crashed again and since i havent been able to boot into windows , as soon as it the windows logo disapears the screen goes black and then BSODS instantly.
i can boot into safemode fine , i uninstalled the gfx card drivers , ran cc cleaner + driver sweeper , tried reinstalling various nvidia drivers and it always BSODs as soon as the windows logo disapears whenever a driver is installed.

today i bought an SSD and installed a fresh copy of windows onto it , as soon as i install nvidia drivers i cant get past the windows logo its the same old BSOD. (the error is about the video card trying to recover from a reset and failing)

if i enable the onboard gfx i can use that fine so everything else in my pc is working great.

NO hardware changes at all.
no software changes at all.
the pc has been working fine since august 2010 when it was built.

ive tried moving the gfx card to a different pcie slot/cleaning the contacts, different pcie power leads , + my old psu.

i think i can safely rule out any hardware conflicts or driver conflicts since nothing was changed recently at all.

sounds like the card is well and truely dead? its still inside its 3 year warranty period so i guess i can RMA it (i assume to ocuk as gigabyte say contact the retailer on there website)

btw first pc part other than HDD's that has failed on me in about 15 years :O
