Ok at the mo I got :

BFG 6800 GT OC (this can go to ultra no problem)
Asus K8vSE deluxe board (754)
Athlon 64 3400 (this can clock to 2.5 no problem...)
2 x 36gb raptors in raid
1 x 120gb Ibm backup drive
1 x gb ram
1 DVD writer

2 x NEC 1810x LCDs

My question is this ... the games I tend to play are :

Rfactor
GTR
GT legends
Lock On Flaming Cliffs...
just getting into Oblivion :)

Thing is Im pretty much stuck at 1280 x 1024 resolution...

Obviously my next upgrade has to be full CPU - memory - GFX etc - but would an upgrade be overkill for the resolutions I can goto ?

SLI is cool etc - 16x and above no problem - but would I be just bottle necking a newer card and cpu at 1280 ?

The reason I was thinking of upgrading was thought id fried the 6800 (but now fixed... see another thread :) )

I think this will easily be good enough for those games. As this is way under your budget, you could think about taking the graphics card up a notch to the X1900XT.
