I got a call the other day from a company looking to hire me, I had a brief chat with the recruitment director and we arranged a formal telephone interview later in the week.

Had the telephone interview, all went well and was a very positive experience resulting in me getting through to the face to face interview. Went along to that suited and booted as you would, this was held with a representative from HR and the IT Manager for the site. Again, went really well and I feel I gave some good answers to the questions asked and in turn asked some pertinent and relevant questions to the new role that they had created (potentially) for me.

As we parted company, the HR representative said "We'll be in touch shortly to firm up the next round which will be a telephone conference with the international support team for technical assessment." No worries, all good. Left the interview feeling positive, all smiles and business.

That was nearly 2 weeks ago, I've heard nothing since. I dropped a short and polite email to the HR director and the HR representative asking if I had been fortunate enough to be accepted to the next round of interview... nothing back.

Now, as much as I want the job I'm starting to think that even if I have been successful thus far that I don't really want to work for a company so lax on something so important as the interview.

Would you push further to get an answer, be it yes or no or would you leave it and wait for them to get back (if) to you?

I would leave it. It's Aug - Many Hr peoples are on holiday + dealing with swine flu, recruitment might be on hold. If they had a yes or no for you, they would have replied - they haven't replied because they have no answer at this time?
